Petra Theiner receives the Decoration of Merit of the State of Tyrol

On August 15, the Feast of the Assumption (Hoher Frauentag), individuals are honored at the Hofburg in Innsbruck for exceptional merit. Governor Anton Mattle of the State of Tyrol and Governor Arno Kompatscher of South Tyrol award Petra Theiner the Decoration of Merit of the State of Tyrol. It is the third-highest honor bestowed by the State of Tyrol, following the Ring and the Decoration of Honor.
I dedicate this award to the poorest of the poor in Kolkata, for whom I am privileged to walk this path. But also to everyone who shares hope alongside me. This cross consists of many parts—it is like a puzzle to me. A thousand thanks to my partner Christian and my boys. Without Father Mathew George, our local head in Kolkata, it would not be possible to implement and manage our projects so successfully. I am giving him a very big piece of this cross in recognition of his tireless work for the poorest. Another big puzzle piece goes to Bruneck, to my 'Pusteria Angels' from the flea market, especially to those who sacrifice so much of their free time all year round. One part goes to Maria Trens, to my herb and handicraft women. Every year on August 15, the herb and craft market for our projects takes place there. And the rest of the cross goes to all the donors who support me—to all those who place their trust in me, all those who support me in any way, and last but not least, a piece for all the people who pray for me. I need 'you all,' and together we can achieve and change so much. May God reward you all. With deep gratitude and humility, Your Petra (More photos in the gallery)
